LEARN MORE ABOUT US

The Great Save is a fan-based blog that seeks to highlight the problem of saving valuable football memorabilia and to guide supporters, collectors and organisations towards the emerging solutions.

At present we have three writers who are all working at a high level with the preservation of their own club’s heritage and using it to engage current and future generations of supporters and the wider community. We’re here to share our knowledge, experiences – and problems!

What do we mean by memorabilia? Match programmes are the obvious but far from the most valuable. We’d include club trophies, record books, tickets, supporters’ club records, press photographs, shirts, scarves, football books, annuals, handbooks and magazines, collectors’ cards, scrapbooks, fanzines, films/videotapes/DVDs, badges, souvenir mugs and pennants. Sometimes physical items from stadiums have survived too.

We will aim to put up a fresh blog every month or two with the latest news and developments from around the UK.
